What Vorne XL does

Vorne XL is a bolt-on production-monitoring appliance that combines several functions in one line-level device: scoreboard, production monitor, input/output processor, data warehouse, analytics engine, and web server. It is more than a visual counter, although visual management is one of its strengths.

One XL device monitors a manufacturing process through one or two sensor inputs and a network connection. The device stores and analyzes production events, serves browser-based reports, and drives a display. The design gives a plant a concrete unit of deployment: one monitored process, its signals, its operator workflow, and its visual output.

XL Touch is the current next-generation model with a touch interface and HDMI scoreboard output. Vorne describes more than 140 metrics across more than 20 data dimensions. Those metrics can be viewed through browser reporting rather than requiring every user to stand at the line.

Signals alone can show that a process changed state, but operating context often needs people or upstream systems.
